A Little about me!

Teila Dawson - Civil Marriage Celebrant

I decided to become a Marriage Celebrant because well I just simply love love and I couldn’t think of a more rewarding and fulfilling career.

I remember as a little girl being mesmerised by all things weddings - the dress, rings, celebration and love. I was always so fascinated by the Celebrant, I remember thinking to myself 'I will definitely do that when I retire'. Through a personal tragedy and the lowest point of my life, I was inspired by the funeral Celebrant who helped me to establish the significance of my loved one and created a safe space so I could start processing my grief. It was at this point the significance of the role of a Celebrant hit me, life is love, memories and experiences and I couldn't think of a greater honour. I decided in that moment I wouldn't wait until I was going to retire to celebrate love.

Your event isn't a business transaction to me, I genuinely feel connected and bonded with you for life, I love watching you and your family grow and change through the seasons of life.

Being a Celebrant is not only my passion but I truly feel its my calling.
